George Pullman's company became known as the ultimate in luxury passenger car travel. This lisiting is one of the last ones put out by the company showing the
cars that were both in service on the top named trains in the country as well as
many of those in private hands too. In addition to the listing it has diagrams
for the cars showing the numbers and types of accomodations in each.
The listing is alphabetical by car name for the US and Canadian roads. Cars in
service in Mexico as well as those stored for government service are included too.
The drawings are essentially blueprints that a skilled employee could recognize, repair, and service equipment that was in use. They also provided unit number data and technical specifications such as trucks, power rating, and air conditioning type.
This data is something that each railroad had on hand for their crews operating
the trains and the shops in the areas concerned. In the case where repairs
were necessary these were used to help restore damaged equipment.
This book has 96 pages with 97 Diagrams, Illustrations, & Tables.
