This book contains drawings of the equipment that was operating
throughout the New York Central Railroad System in the
years leading up to and during the Great Depression
The drawings are essentially blueprints that a skilled employee could recognize, repair, and service equipment that was in service. While much of the equipment
in here was built for the NYC and subsidiary lines some was built by them
in their own shops using their own designs and copies of proven designs.
This data is something that each railroad had on hand for their crews operating
the trains and the shops in the areas concerned. In the case where repairs
were necessary these were used to help restore damaged equipment.
Due to the poor quality of the originals many of the folios required editing
Included are all the major Loco types and subtypes used throughout the
system, both steam and electric. In most cases this includes tables with
unit numbers and other specific data for those classes and sub groups.
This book has 126 pages with 478 folios & tables.
