This book contains drawings of the equipment that was operating
throughout the CONRAIL System in 1982-84. Because CONRAIL was formed
of many failing roads, there is a big melting pot of equipment from them all.
The drawings are essentially blueprints that a skilled employee could recognize, repair, and service equipment that was in use. While much of the equipment
in here was built for the component lines some was built for CONRAIL
after it rose from the ashes of those numerous northeastern US roads.
This data is something that each railroad had on hand for their crews operating
the trains and the shops in the areas concerned. In the case where repairs
were necessary these were used to help restore damaged equipment.
Due to the poor quality of the originals many of the folios required editing.
In addition to the normal folios and diagrams of cars, there is also a chapter
that includes the complete 1981 Caboose directory giving car number and data.
This book has 130 pages with 476 folios & tables.
