This book contains Folio drawings of both Heavyweight (steel) and
Lightweight (Aluminum & Stainless Steel) cars that were in service during
the golden era of American Railroad passenger trains. These trains were
still the way most Americans traveled long distances and smaller roads
such as this fed into larger systems that one day would take them over
just as the Southern did with the Central of GA. because some of these
trains travelled in the south with the restrictive "Jim Crow" laws, there
are cars with divided sections in them that are illustrated within this book.
The drawings are essentially blueprints that a skilled employee could
recognize, repair, and service equipment that was in service.
This data is something that each railroad had on hand for their crews operating
the trains and the shops in the areas concerned. In the case where repairs
were necessary these were used to help restore damaged equipment.
Due to the poor quality of the originals many of the folios required editing.
This book has 86 pages with 89 drawings, illustrations, and tables.
