This book contains drawings of the equipment that was operating throughout
the Burlington Northern after the merger which formed it. It includes locomotives that ran on the CB&Q; Northern Pacific; Spokane, Portland & Seattle; and the
Great Northern. Also in 1985, the BN ran some experiments with Fuel Tenders between locomotives on long distance runs. Those are also included in this book.
The drawings are essentially blueprints that a skilled employee could
recognize, repair, and service equipment that was in service. Because
the BN was formed from 4 smaller roads, there is a definite
time when these were necessary because so many people were
seeing equipment that they never had before the merger.
This data is something that each railroad had on hand for their crews operating
the trains and the shops in the areas concerned. In the case where repairs
were necessary these were used to help restore damaged equipment.
Due to the poor quality of the originals many of the folios required editing.
Where present, there is data about the specific class or road number series.
This book has 112 pages with 112 folios & tables.
