This book contains Folio drawings of both Heavyweight (steel) and

Lightweight (Aluminum & Stainless Steel) cars that were in service during

the era of Robert Claytor was the CEO and his brother, the past CEO of

the Southern Railway, was running the steam and heritage program.

These are the cars most often seen in business train and excursion service

across the eastern US and as far west as Kansas City, MO. Often they

would be pulled by N&W J Class 611 or N&W A Class 1215 both of which

are on display at the Virginia Transportation museum in Roanoke, VA.

Many of these cars remain in the possession of the Norfolk Southern today.

The drawings are essentially blueprints that a skilled employee could

recognize, repair, and service equipment that was in service.

This data is something that each railroad had on hand for their crews operating

the trains and the shops in the areas concerned. In the case where repairs

were necessary these were used to help restore damaged equipment.

Due to the poor quality of the originals many of the folios required editing.

This book contains 59 pages with 59 illustrations.
